ASBESTOS TESTING rules are outlined by the State of Colorado as follows:
For homeowners, you need to do an asbestos test if you are going to
- Remove more than 32 square feet or
- Remove more than 50 linear feet or
- Remove more than the equivalent of one 55-gallon drum of any material besides concrete, wood, bricks, or steel.
For commercial clients, you need to test for asbestos if you are going to
- Remove more than 160 square feet or
- Remove more than 260 linear feet or
- Remove more than the equivalent of one 55-gallon drum of any material besides concrete, wood, bricks, or steel.
** Both residential and commercial clients need to conduct asbestos tests if they plan to demolish their building **
